Grounded in the principles of naturopathic medicine, we at Stone Naturopathic are here to help create better balance in your life. These are our core beliefs:

We believe in vitalism. That is to say we believe each person contains the innate ability to heal. We work WITH the body, not against it, to maximize your health.

We believe that you are an intricate part of your healthcare team. You are the expert in your body and thus have valuable input that guides us towards healing. We cannot heal you, only you can do that. We are simply here to point you in the right direction and facilitate that process.

We believe you deserve our time and respect. We don't take shortcuts when it comes to your care. That means no 5-minute appointments or only allowing you to only address 1 concern at your visit. We want to know all about you because that is what allows us to treat you as a whole person.

We believe you deserve choices. You have the right to choose which doctors you see, which treatments you use, and how you approach your own health. Of course patient safety comes first, but we will support you in any way possible. If that means we refer you out or choose a treatment plan slightly different than what we had in mind for you then that's what we do. The most important thing is that we understand each others' needs and approach everything with kindness and respect.

We believe in YOU. If you've been told that your symptoms are all in your head, we want to meet with you. Too often we hear of women being told they are just depressed or anxious and handed a pill to take. A pill that depletes nutrients, creates further imbalances, and has nasty side effects. When instead what they need is maybe a thorough hormone workup, proper nutrition, or better stress management skills. It is always our goal to find the underlying imbalance causing your symptoms, not to suppress them.

We use naturopathic treatments to create this balance. We will of course utilize conventional prescription medications when indicated and necessary, but that is not typically our first line. In naturopathic medicine, we believe the least and safest intervention possible is always the best choice. As one of my mentors frequently says, we are here to give the body what it needs and get out of the way.
