Leafwell is a network of licensed physicians working in Rhode Island. We are also able to provide medical marijuana cards for those who reside in California and Oklahoma, and we are hoping to go further into other states. We are hoping to create a nationwide network of trustworthy doctors, so patients can get their recs and renewals simply and easily, without having to find a doctor who would be willing to recommend medical cannabis. We also work towards providing patients with information on the cannabis plant, and what may work best.

Cannabis is a complex plant with up to 150 cannabinoids, 212 terpenes and 20 flavonoids discovered so far. This complexity means that we have yet to discover precisely how to use various cannabis strains and cannabinoids. The legality of the cannabis plant and the restrictions imposed on researching it have made it more difficult still to determine what specific cananbinoid-terpenoid-flavonoid profile & dosage is best for which condition.

Yet, the cannabis plant's complexity is also what makes it useful for a huge number of conditions. The huge number of cannabinoids with a variety of different effects, combined with the relative physical safety of naturally-derived cannabinoids and the fact that the endocannabinoid system (ECS) is intimately involved with homeostasis, means that cannabis-based medications could be useful for a number of different health problems. No, cannabis is not for everyone, but there are a not-insignificant number of people who it is extremely useful for.

We here at Leafwell are trying to crack the cannabis code, and see what cannabinoids work, how and for which conditions and segments of the population. We want to see the idea of cannabis as medicine taken seriously, and we will work towards making it happen both in the United States and throughout the world.
