Platinum OG
1/8 $35.00
More info
More info Platinum OG is just as precious as the metal it’s named after. This indica-dominant hybrid asserts itself as one of the “heaviest” strains around. Platinum OG is purported to stem from three strains: Master Kush, OG Kush, and a third unknown parent. Flowers are lime green and plump, with prominent orange hairs and a platinum coating thanks to the abundance of THC crystals. A brief, heady onset settles into a powerful physical sedation suitable for nighttime use and pain, stress, or anxiety relief, making this precious strain a robust healer.

Animal Cookies - Indica Dominant Hybrid
1/8 $35.00
More info
More info A potent strain with some famous genetics, Animal Cookies -- sometimes also known as Animal Crackers -- is a relatively recent indica hybrid. Bred by Canadian seed bank BC Bud Depot, it is a cross between perennial favorite Girl Scout Cookies and indica hybrid Fire OG. Animal Cookies has definite for consumers, with multicolored flowers and a complex sweet-sour scent. It has heavy, almost narcotic indica effects, providing pain relief, relaxation, and sleep. Cannabis lab Analytical 360 has tested samples of Animal Cookies and measured its THC content at between 18% and an impressive 27%. Animal Cookies is marked by small to medium-sized popcorn-like buds with a dense bud structure typical of other indicas. Leaves are a yellowish-green; some phenotypes can express subtle purple hues. This purple is brought out when colder temperatures stimulate pigments called anthocyanins -- the process is similar to the way foliage changes color in autumn when chlorophyll breaks down in cooler weather. The buds are very sticky and covered in white to cloudy amber trichomes, perhaps lending the leaves their yellowish appearance. Orange hairs -- which are actually pistils to collect pollen from male plants -- stand out against the colorful flowers. Animal Cookies has a scent that is simultaneously sweet and sour, with a dank, skunky edge. Breaking open the sticky flowers yields some more notes of pepper and pine. Interestingly, this strain is not known for having a grape-like taste; although its pigments bring out purple hues in the right conditions, this does not result in a corresponding change in flavor. When combusted, Animal Cookies have a thick, harsh smoke that often induces coughing. This smoke has a sweet and vaguely spicy taste when exhaled. Animal Cookies has a high that settles in fairly quickly for a predominantly indica strain. Smokers may not have finished coughing before they hit with a weighty and palpable stoney feeling that affects the entire body. Emotional well-being accompanies this relaxation so that users typically feel remarkably comfortable and contented. Without any cerebral intensity, this strain does not confer the kind of rapid-association thoughtfulness that comes with more pure sativa varieties. The extreme relaxation that Animal Cookies provides can melt into a powerful couchlock if users continue to indulge in its potent bud. These physical effects also make Animal Cookies an effective painkiller with medical application. Those suffering from both mild or more chronic, nerve-based pain report an easing or a total relief of symptoms. This strain's heaviness also makes it an excellent treatment for users who struggle with insomnia. Mentally, Animal Cookies can also be beneficial in helping treat stress and anxiety, as it renders users happily oblivious in its stoney haze. Side effects include the typical dry eyes and dry mouth, along with some appetite stimulation. More recommended for nighttime than daytime use, Animal Cookies is not usually praised for helping users accomplish work.

Platinum Cookie (AKA Platinum GSC)
1/8 $45.00
More info
More info Platinum Cookie is a slightly indica-dominant (60%) hybrid which evolved from the renowned Girl Scout Cookies. This strain has some top-quality genetics, being a cross between the famous OG Kush and Durban Poison, a traditional landrace strain originating from South Africa. Although OG Kush is well-known and has fathered many other great strains, its exact heritage is uncertain. Durban Poison, on the other hand, is a pure sativa, a feature which is increasingly rare in this day and age. Being 100% sativa, you might expect Durban Poison to have energizing, uplifting effects. If this is the case, you certainly wouldn’t be disappointed. Thankfully, these fantastic qualities have been passed on to Platinum Cookies, where they have combined beautifully with the relaxing, full-body high of its other parent, OG Kush. Platinum Cookies boasts high THC levels of 18–26%, and CBD levels up to 1%. There is no doubt that this strain is powerful, and it may be best to avoid it if you are new to the marijuana scene. Platinum Cookies Aroma, Flavor, and Appearance The Platinum Cookies strain is indeed a sight to behold, with a thick layer of crystalline trichomes covering dense buds with hues of purple and dark green. These are interspersed with bright orange pistils which add further to the visual appeal of this strain. The aroma of Platinum Cookies is fuel-like, with just a hint of pine. The flavor, however, is sweeter, with earthy and even floral notes. So we know Platinum Cookies looks and tastes great. But how about its effects? Platinum Cookies Strain Effects Due to its outstanding genetics, Platinum Cookies produces a well-balanced and enjoyable high which is simultaneously mellow and uplifting. When you smoke Platinum Cookies, you will feel deeply relaxed and euphoric, and the high can last as long as a few hours. This strain does have slightly sedative effects, meaning that you could be hit with couch-lock if you aren’t careful. Platinum Cookies is not necessarily a great morning, get-up-and-go strain, but if you are looking for something to help you unwind after a hard day, it could be the perfect solution. Why is Platinum Cookies so Good for Stress Relief? Stress is something that affects everyone from time to time. The big difference is how we deal with it. Some people seem to thrive under pressure, whereas others crumble at the slightest hint of it. Our bodies are all wired more or less the same, so what is it that makes some people so much more able to deal with stress than others? When we feel threatened, our sympathetic nervous systems kick in. Our breathing and heart rates increase, blood rushes to our muscles, and non-urgent functions such as digestion and immunity are temporarily switched off. From an evolutionary point of view, this ‘fight or flight’ reaction prepares us to act swiftly in the face of danger, for example, being chased by a wild animal. Although this is pretty unlikely to happen in this day and age, our bodies are still engineered in much the same way they were thousands of years ago. And it doesn’t matter whether you’ve stumbled across an angry bear or a vicious email from your boss, your nervous system still responds in the same way. The key to coping with stress is finding ways to neutralize your fight or flight response, and turning down your sympathetic nervous system. Some people do this with exercise while others swear by meditation. Some people enjoy a glass or two of wine in the evening, and others prefer a good smoke. The reason why so many people find cannabis helpful for stress is because it has a profound effect on the nervous system. The psychoactive compound in weed, THC, mimics the action of a chemical called anandamide which is produced naturally by our bodies, and has been dubbed by some as the ‘bliss molecule.’ Anandamide is an endocannabinoid and a vital part of the endocannabinoid system. This system is intricately involved in many of our biological functions and plays a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis. Anandamide binds with receptors in the brain and nervous system known as CB1 receptors. Here it acts as a neurotransmitter and has a powerful influence over mood, pain perception, and memory. Research has shown that anandamide production increases in response to stressful stimuli, and may offer some protection against the symptoms of anxiety. Endocannabinoids such as anandamide are also thought to interrupt the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, which is responsible for releasing the stress hormone cortisol. As well as simulating these effects, THC boosts production of another neurotransmitter, dopamine. Dopamine is one of the brain’s ‘happy chemicals’ and is released as part of the reward response. When you consider this, it is no wonder that strains like Platinum Cookies are so useful for relieving stress. One 2014 study on medical marijuana for PTSD found that the herb offered as much as a 75% reduction in symptoms, a result which is certainly not to be sniffed at! More Medicinal Benefits of Platinum Cookies This strain is wonderfully relaxing and acts as an effective stress-reliever. Therefore, Platinum Cookies can be used for a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. It could also help with symptoms such as headaches and migraines which are often associated with stress. Besides this, the body-high that comes alongside the uplifting effects of Platinum Cookies can help to melt away chronic pain. It is also sometimes used to soothe a variety of other symptoms such as nausea. Platinum Cookies Side Effects The most commonly reported side effect of Platinum Cookies is dry mouth and dry eyes. These effects can easily be combatted by keeping a drink handy and staying well-hydrated. It is also possible that this strain could make you feel too relaxed, leading to couch-lock and fatigue. Another potential side effect is anxiety or paranoia, although this is not as common as it can be with some high-THC strains.

This bud ha leafy and fluffy spade-shaped forest green nugs with sparse orange hairs and a fine coating of tiny golden crystal trichomes. Green Crack
1/8 $45.00
More info
More info Sometimes shock value can be a big asset when naming and marketing strains. Originally called “Cush”, this strain was re-dubbed “Green Crack” by none other than cannabis connoisseur Snoop Dogg after he sampled its intense sativa effects. Although some still prefer the name Cush to sidestep any unwanted cannabis stigma, the love for this fruity and earthy strain is unanimous. Green Crack’s origins are disputed -- originally bred in Athens, GA in the 1970s, it is descended from the ever-popular Skunk #1, but it may also have some Afghani landrace indica in its background. It delivers a trippy and energetic high that’s perfect for daytime use. Its potency -- Green Crack averages 16% THC content -- ensures that you’ll feel uplifted for hours to come. Green Crack has a classically indica bud structure, with dense buds that are more small and clustered than chunky. The leaves are pale green to yellow, although the pigments in some phenotypes can cause some leaves to be streaked with purple when plants are exposed to cold during the growing process. Rust-colored pistils stand out against the colorful flowers. The buds are also coated in milky-white trichomes, giving them a sticky texture and a glistening appearance. This visual appeal is matched by a dynamic scent. Cured properly, the flowers have a bright citrus scent with mellow undertones of earthiness and wood. The smoke is very smooth, and leaves a tang at the top of the palate and the back of the tongue, reminiscent of mango. On the exhale, smoke tastes vaguely hashy and spicy, perhaps evidence of Afghani in its lineage. Despite mostly indica physical characteristics, Green Crack has a strong and buzzy sativa high. It provides users with a boost of energy that soon manifests as a cerebral mindset, making this an excellent wake and bake strain. Green Crack’s potency can make mundane like dishes and laundry tasks more interesting. It’s also an inspiring smoke -- its sharp sense of focus can help users zero in on creative projects or can draw attention to the nuances in a piece of music or a movie. Green Crack can also have some slightly psychedelic effects, including visual distortions and, particularly, an odd sense of time dilation. Because it can leave users feeling uplifted and fairly wired, this strain isn’t recommended for use late at night. Because it doesn’t have many physically relaxing indica properties, Green Crack doesn’t have a wide range of medical benefits. However, its energizing effects can be great for freeing users from fatigue. Green Crack can also aid those suffering from anxiety and depression, helping them to live in the moment -- although in large enough doses, the tendency towards recursive cerebral thinking can plunge some into panic or paranoia.
